I CAN’T agree with the Plaid Cymru representative’s view that fracking isn't feasible, and having written on the subject in this paper before I’m glad the Welsh Government has adopted my view of “let’s get cracking and do some fracking”.

To be honest with the current energy and jobs crisis they can’t licence enough sites. If fracking can get the youths of Wales employed, instead of this state jobs economy that now exists they can have a site in my back garden.

To say fracking causes pollution and isn't green is nonsense. The Assembly will have more support in Wales for pursuing this policy than those who are against it. Extraction doesn't cause slag tips like coal mining, but while we’re on the subject how about opening some more mines, and coal fired power stations with the price of energy and technology to make coal burn cleaner, this should also be included in the energy agenda, as it will also provide jobs in subsidiary industries.

It won’t harm the water supplies either as they’re piped down from Brecon and the shale gas is in a different geological area.

There is room for green energy in fracking to appease the tree huggers etc, the drills used in extraction could be wind powered thereby decreasing carbon emissions.

The other great argument for fracking in Wales is that it makes us less reliant on Russian gas and open to energy blackmail from Russia, and denies support for President Putin’s aggressive policies by funding his gas sales.

Also it’s a lot greener to extract our own gas than import it from Russia and the Middle East, we would be extracting and burning the same amount as we import so carbon emission wise there’s a difference in that we would create less carbon by taking out the transportation factor.

The Russian economy has boomed on energy sales, so why can’t we in Wales be the same as a country built on shale gas and coal, be enjoying full employment, high standards of living from developing and selling our reserves. What we want is an army of young Welsh men in mining and engineering not hordes of social workers traipsing around like agony aunts telling us how bad things are when they shouldn't be.

Unfortunately the answer is obvious, the political parties who want to deny us these benefits are the ones who want to keep control of the state controlled jobs to dole out to their client supporters.

We’ve all had enough of this nonsense of being emotionally blackmailed with pictures of polar bears etc, if the world warms up some species will benefit and some won’t, same as if it cools down, meanwhile let’s speed up the fracking process and get some jobs created.
