I should like to thank all those people who voted for me as the Plaid Cymru - Party of Wales candidate at the General Election.

In Cardiff South and Penarth, we won the highest vote ever - 3,433 - with many of these votes coming from Penarth.

I congratulate Stephen Doughty on his re-election as an MP and wish him well in the very important task of representing the people of Cardiff South and Penarth, who are facing another five years of public service cuts.

I am proud that our campaign highlighted our principled opposition to vicious cuts and pleased with our significant increase in support. We have succeeded in creating a solid foundation of support in Penarth and the rest of the constituency to build on for the Assembly election next year and the council elections in 2017.

I look forward to continuing to support the good work our Party of Wales teams are doing in Penarth and in the rest of the constituency.

My thanks again to those who supported me.

Ben Foday, parliamentary candidate, Plaid Cymru.
