I ATTENDED A&E at the UHW, Heath, Cardiff, after a street fall on Monday, May 11,I have already written to the department to thank them for the treatment I received.
I have nothing but praise for the way that I was treated on a very busy night despite the staff working in almost impossible conditions. I was at all times treated with kindness and
consideration.
This was despite some of my fellow patients and their relatives making demands at the top of their voices, including alcohol, cigarettes, colour televisions, phone chargers, and hot meals, don't they understand that this is an accident and emergency department.
During this the staff remained calm and professional despite extreme provocation, the Welsh NHS is not broken, but it nearly is! It is glued together by the dedication and professionalism of the people working there.
The chief minister of the Welsh National Assembly, in his ivory gas house in Cardiff Bay must be aware of this, but maybe is turning a Nelsonian blind eye to the true situation.
