ON an enjoyable day at the Penarth Carnival I was somewhat disappointed at the decision to continue with the Downhill Derby (together with commentary) during the display by the two Spitfires from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
This year commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Battle.
Surely the Derby could have been suspended for 10 minutes or so thereby allowing the large crowd on the hill to give their uninterrupted attention to the display by these iconic aircraft of the Second World War.
