ON behalf of the trustees of Lower Penarth Community Association, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the annual charity concert at Lower Penarth Community Centre on July 23.

Firstly, of course, Canton Rugby Football Club Male Voice Choir, who once again delighted the audience with their singing of old and new favourites, and to their very talented young soloist, Lucy Vinen.

Our thanks, too, to Griffin Books for helping to sell tickets, and to all the members of the community who sold and bought tickets for the concert and for the raffle.

The support from local businesses in Penarth, in particular Tesco Express, Hi Plan Copy Print, Foxys Deli and Cafe and Waterloo Tea, as well as trustees and members of the association, ensured that the raffle prizes contributed to the raising of a large sum to donate to this year's charity, Penarth Live at Home Scheme.

As well as their generosity in giving their time and talents, the choir made a donation to the charity, enabling the association to raise a total of £625 from the concert.

It was again evident from the response throughout from the audience that the charity concert given by Canton RFC Male Voice Choir at Lower Penarth Community Centre are a vital part of life in the local and wider community.

It has also been a great pleasure to work together with the choir and the unfailing supportive team of committed helpers on organising the annual concerts.
