I THINK of you as I amber slowly down

The steep path to Porthkerry Park

With the mint-scented summer air.

I walk over the verdant grass and admire the picturesque cottage

Watching me benevolently

As children's laughter fills the July air

Running in the vast park without a care.

I cross over a quant little bridge

As butterflies flicker and a squirrel

Races athletically up a tree

Then pass pictures in wood of Penarth Pier

And the magnificent Porthkerry Viaduct

Before the grand real structure greets my eyes.

This was the vista you adored the most

With the wooden miner standing like a ghost.
