ON THE afternoon of Wednesday, August 26, at about 3.30pm, I was at the bus stop close to the pedestrian crossing in Windsor Road, near the Dingle Station footpath.
A car passed, in the direction of Cardiff, at an estimated speed of about 60mph.
This was just one incident on one day, but it is not all unusual to observe speeding cars going at 40mph, in what is a 30mph area.
I have seen several other instances of cars driven well over he speed limits. Almost every day there is likely to be several instances of this.
I sometimes feel that there need not be any new 20mph limits if the existing 30mph and 40mph limits could be more tightly enforced.
The police and two local town councillors can take some credit for tighter enforcement of speed limits in Plassey Street, but what about other areas including Windsor Road and Hickman Road, where the top end near the funeral home is an accident waiting to happen?
