The swans of Cosmeston Lakes majestically glide

Under a September sun painted blue

And I find it impossible to hide

The pleasure afforded by this view.

The lake is azure, reflecting the sky

A path of silver enhancing the scene

As I observe contented people passing by

Enjoying a vista so alluring and serene.

The swans of Cosmeston Lakes majestically float

As a child with an excited face

With remote control guides his toy boat

And my woes dissolve without a trace

Strolling in the woods on this fine day

A haven for birds, a place to adore.

How peaceful it is to walk this way

Who could ask for anything more?
