DEAR editor,
I wish to draw your readers’ attention to a recent Welsh Government announcement about claiming back fees paid for NHS continuing healthcare.
The NHS can be responsible for paying continuing healthcare costs for people with ‘complex’ care needs or whose care needs are mainly due to their health.
This care can be provided in people’s own homes or in a care home.
People who have paid for their own care between August 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014, but believe that this should have been funded by the NHS in Wales, now have until October 31 to contact their local health board to try to claim that money back.
I would urge any of your readers who would like any further information about NHS continuing care and this deadline to contact Age Cymru Advice on 08000 223 444 for free and impartial advice.
