IN the park's black pavilion I sit

The beautiful sculptured hedges stand guard

And the serene sea down below is sunlit

Silver and blue just like on a postcard.

I have come here to escape from all stress

Only the sound of birds and seagulls heard

As I enjoy the autumn sun's caress

Far from the city's ant nest so absurd.

Here there are flowerbeds and golden trees

And verdant grass where kids and dogs run free

I relax in the soft October breeze

Park as splendid as it will ever be.

But, alas, the world I must again face

So say goodbye to ghosts...who love this place.
