DEAR editor,

Jeremy Corbyn is quite right to complain that General Houghton's behaviour is unconstitutional and how can our chief of staff claim that Trident is a deterrent "every minute of every day" when other countries, such as Germany, feel safer without nuclear weapons.

Is it because he is planning for another war that he wants to waste £100 billion on this nuclear relic of the Cold War at the cost of our health service?

We are being increasingly militarised by stealth, including our schools, and even our remembrance ceremonies.

Of course we should remember the sacrifice of the fallen but we should also remember the military and political blunders that have killed and maimed so many soldiers and civilians.

Labour MPs should support their democratically elected leader when he speaks truth to power and remember that they lost the last election because they lost touch with their core supporters.

They should support Jeremy Corbyn in opposing this government's march to war which really could prove to be the war to end all wars.
