SO MANY negative reports are heard of regarding the care services that I feel it is only fair to tell people that there are also many positives, especially at this time of year.

My husband was diagnosed with early onset Vascular Dementia at 64, and along with his other medical problems, support was essential.

Then in April this year, he suffered a stroke, followed in June by a diagnosis of Parkinsonism. Since then, the various care agencies involved in his care have really stepped up to the mark.

Without them I could never have coped, so my profound thanks go to Matt Williams, social worker, Tim Nicholls CPN and the Younger Onset Dementia team at Llandough Hospital, including Julie, physiotherapist and Gail, occupational therapist, the Assessment and Recovery unit team at Llandough Hospital, Ty Hapus, Crossroads day care, Kate and the Adult Placement team, especially Landis, Allied Care Agency for sending me such wonderful carers, and last but certainly not least my friends and family, whose help and support has been invaluable.

Saying thank you to you all doesn't seem enough.

I wish you all, including any I have forgotten to mention, a peaceful and happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
