DEAR editor,
It was good to see the return of Mr Alun Michael, Police and Crime Commissioner for the whole of South Wales (not just Penarth) to these pages.
He has been missing for far too long, clearly very busy in his new role.
Fortunately for us, he was able to take the time to bloviate on the issue of the Vale of Glamorgan`s "part-night lighting". What a load of tosh.
If we are going to shut the lights off in our crime-free streets to save in the region of £300,000, why don`t we remove Mr Michael and his deputy, and his undoubted generous expense package plus office allowance, etc and save a further £300,000.
Let`s see what difference that makes to our lives.
Mark Watkins,
St Illtyd Close,
Dinas Powys
