DEAR editor,
Penarth is a great place to live and Penarth Town Council has so greatly improved the Penarth Festival that I wonder if we could enhance it even further with the inclusion of a Penarth Choir Festival.
We have many a great venues in Penarth with the Pier Pavilion, the Paget Rooms and all Penarth's churches, many having their own choirs and giving concerts, as at All Saints and St Augustine's.
Local schools could take part, as I know that Penarth's mayor, Rosemary Cook, is keen to encourage music in schools and they could cover a broad range of music, including songs from the musicals that could be dramatised.
Perhaps Charlotte Church might be invited to be a patron and give prizes for best in category which would really put Penarth on the map.
