NOW that better weather has arrived and the sun is shining, it is wonderful to see people enjoying themselves in the grounds of the Old Penarth Rugby Field.

What is not so pleasant is the number of teenagers hanging out, many who have no regard for the environmental impact that their behaviour has.

When they left the playing field, they left behind plastic bottles, cans, cigarette packets and general rubbish. Clearly they have no idea what a bin is for.

Then Last Saturday at about 5pm I observed three teenage boys, one with a very distinctive backpack, think it was hilarious to systematically destroy and rip out some of the metal fencing that goes around the playing pitches.

Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me to capture this and hand the footage to the police.

What would be wonderful to see, is if the same group would clear up their mess and the three teenage boys repair the metal barrier.

Unfortunately I doubt this will happen.
