THANK you for publishing my letter on May 12 regarding the proposed car park on the Headland Link Scheme.
Just by this is a walkway to the Bay where the car park the other side by the Barrage would mostly be adequate.
Yesterday, a lovely sunny day, it was almost empty. We also have parking areas on the cliff top which could be a paying scheme if necessary.
If this is unsightly to homes and the nursing home, maybe a walk disguised with plants could be erected.
As a local newspaper please petition that the area to the left of the pier is left unspoiled for the benefit of local people and tourists.
The public have not been asked about this and maybe we could have a petition with Friends of the Earth. The car park would only be used for some of the time.
The pier is limited in the number of people it is able to cope with.
