AS AN old Penarth resident whose dream became a reality with the opening of the Pier Pavilion, I have now sadly come to acknowledge what the cynics said at the time, that having a venue with no parking facilities would prove detrimental.

Having experience over the past year countless abortive attempts to park down the sea front, I have reluctantly cancelled my membership of Penarth Pier Pavilion.

It is essential for the future prosperity of the Pier Pavilion as well as other seafront traders that some provision is made to enable residents of Penarth and visitors to be able to park their cars so that they can take advantage of the many attractions that are on offer to them. Unfortunately at present many visitors to the seafront car park in Marine Parade which has resulted in this once prestigious area becoming congested with traffic.

This is not suitable solution for the abysmal lack of parking spaces.

I trust someone will now take a serious look at this acute problem.
