I AM writing to invite your readers to join me in hosting a World Tea Party for their friends or colleagues this summer.

All funds raised will help SPANA, a charity that provides free veterinary treatment to sick and injured working animals throughout the world.

Working animals do the jobs of tractors, trucks and taxis in developing countries and are relied upon entirely by many of the world’s poorest people for their livelihoods. However, without SPANA, there would be no veterinary treatment available for so many of these animals.

Hosting a British, Moroccan, Indian, or another world themed party, is a great excuse to have fun, try out tasty new recipes, and raise much-needed money to help the world’s most hardworking animals. Actors Dame Judi Dench, Celia Imrie and Joanna Lumley, and author Alexander McCall Smith, are lending their support to the campaign and we hope your readers will too.

The SPANA World Tea Party fundraising pack, full of free recipes, is available from spana.org/teaparty or by calling 020 7831 3999.
