ON FRIDAY, we held our annual fundraising Summer Party Night at the Function Room, Seashore Cafe Bar and Grill, Swanbridge.

This was the eighth time that this event has been held and, as always, it was a fantastic evening’s entertainment.

Sixty-eight guests enjoyed a superb buffet (catered by Jamie, Ian and the staff of the Seashore) and outstanding entertainment provided by Bob Sax.

The event was generously sponsored by McDonald’s Barry, Fordthorne Motor Park, Cardiff and the Deli, High Street Barry – raising just under £1,300, which will make a vast difference to the work that Thyroid Cancer Support Group Wales can do to help those who are affected by this very rare form of cancer.

We also thank Jeff Mayho of Integrated Graphics, Barry for designing and printing the tickets.

As a group we value the support that people give us in our fundraising efforts. Their help is greatly appreciated and certainly makes a huge difference to our group, enabling us to fulfil the goals that we have set.

We totally fund the iNATT project based at Velindre Cancer Centre Cardiff and also we work hard to improve the quality of life for thyroid cancer patients, whilst also offering support to their families at a most challenging time.

Sincere thanks to everyone who attended the event, also to the Seashore Grill for their generous support of the evening.

We thank Morrisons Store Barry Waterfront; Tesco Stirling Road Barry; Waitrose Barry; She Wears It Well High Street; New U - Nails and Beauty, Holton Road Barry; Pethertons, Broad Street, Barry; the Seashore Cafe Bar and Grill and Slaters Menswear, Cardiff, along with the many individuals who kindly supported this event with prizes for the raffle.

We are the only designated charity in Wales supporting this rare form of cancer. We are all volunteers and every penny that we raise goes directly to our funds, we are a registered charity.

One person might be diagnosed with cancer but there are many there willing to offer help and support.
