THROUGH your paper I would like to thank the two very kind men who caught my dog when he ran off during the recent thunderstorm.
The storm started while I was walking him in the parkland near Tesco and the marina.
He is petrified by thunder, and as he is a large bearded collie I was unable to hold him.
He was making for home in Andrew Road, but would have had to cross very busy roads to get there.
One of his rescuers had caught him and held him until I arrived.
A motorist had also stopped and as it was obvious I was not going to be able to hold him, both men helped get him into the car and then the motorist very kindly drove us home.
I know that both men live down the marina.
And I would like to give them my heartfelt thanks, as I am sure they saved my dog from serious injury or worse.
Many, many thanks from myself and Oscar.
