I READ recently in a free newspaper, that a Dinas Powys councillor claimed that the finance for the new Cross Common Road junction to replace the condemned bridge in Dinas Powys was ‘the least of the problems’ in providing the work. How wrong could she be?

I began the campaign in 2001 before this lady came onto the Vale Council and have led the campaign for the residents and until February 2014, on behalf of the Dinas Powys Plaid Cymru group, before I left them and became an independent councillor.

I was invited to a photoshoot by the cabinet member, Cllr King, (also a very recent ‘interested’ participant in the campaign), but this invitation was conveniently ‘forgotten’ when he received complaints from two local residents who took exception to the ‘wrong’ people claiming credit for the efforts of themselves and yours truly over at least 15 years.

If Cllr King really wants some credit for helping the people of Dinas Powys, he can join me and throw his weight behind my equally long campaign to create a safe cycle/footpath between Dinas Powys and Barry. This project would go far to prevent more fatalities on the A4055.
