RE STEPHEN Doughty’s Remembrance plea in the Penarth Times, November 17.
What about the forgotten war – Korea 1950-1953?
There were more than 2,000 men killed and wounded, more than any other conflicts since the Second World War.
One being Peter Jones RM, a Penarth boy aged 18. There were quite a few boys from Penarth called up for National Service who went to Korea (myself being one of them).
As you know no peace treaty has been signed between North and South.
British troops did not leave Korea until 1957.
So I would like to have the Korean War mentioned at the Remembrance Service.
