THE mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, cllr Stuart Egan, is hosting a St David’s Day concert at All Saints Church, Penarth (by kind permission of the Reverend Canon Peter Cox) on Friday, March 3 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 or £8 concessions and can be reserved by emailing Julie at the mayor’s office jmebrown@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk or telephone 01446 709301 or can be purchased on the night.

Tickets can also be reserved by emailing lorraine.barrett4@ntlworld.com or ring me on 029 20307 359.

The concert is being organised by Colin Jones (former divisional commander for the Vale of Glamorgan) with help from Lynda Wallis Hawkins who is organising refreshments and Alex James, manager of Melingriffith Band plus other volunteers.

The concert will feature the Melingriffith Brass Band, harpist Llewelyn Ifan Jones and guest vocalist Lili Mohammad.

Funds raised from the concert will benefit the mayor’s chosen charities which are: Llandough Hospital Orchard project whereby land at the rear of Llandough Hospital will be converted into a community orchard and garden, and the Penarth and District Lesotho Trust which organises and supports visits from Wales to Lesotho with grants for health and schooling.

So why not come along for an evening of beautiful music, and help raise funds for two very worthwhile charities.
