Funds boost

A COFFEE morning held on Friday, June 26, at Dros y Mor, Penarth, raised more than £800 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

Many thanks are due to all those involved for this wonderful response.

Muscular dystrophy is a progressive muscle wasting disease that occurs in about one in 3,500 UK male births every year.

The hope is that stem cell and other genetic research will find ways to retard or even cure its worst effects, which often include the sufferer becoming wheelchairbound by early teens, with death following a few short years later.
