Rhod show was unreal

I HAD a real laugh when I saw Rhod Gilbert as a binman on BBC Wales, set in Barry – not because the programme was funny but because it was so unreal.

There were two council officials on Barry Island beach, which seemed to be the middle of the night, looking for people who let their dogs mess on the beach. They spoke to a couple of dog walkers and offered them blue dog poop bags.

I have never seen any such people in Penarth and, where I live, people let their dogs mess anywhere – especially on a grassed area where kiddies play.

Fly-tipping was also focused on.

Again, I have never seen anybody checking on fly-tipping in Penarth, especially St Lukes Avenue area. In some cases in the communal areas of some flats it’s disgusting, but nothing is done and nobody spoken to or warned.

Another item that made me laugh was when a binman threw a bag on the lorry but it hit the vehicle and partly spilled on the road – the men hastily swept and shovelled it up and threw it in the lorry.

I have never seen this done, it is usually left in the road.

This programme was so unreal it may win an award for the best fantasy television show.
