Speed appeal

REGARDING the front page article on the Penarth Times (January 21) about speeding motorists along Redlands Road.

I live on South Road, Sully.

Traffic speed here is very high, especially in the evenings - even though it is a 30mph road and there are three pedestrian crossings through the village.

Speedsters are not only cars, they include buses and lorries, and I have seen drivers on mobile phones and texting, quite often on wet roads, approaching the crossings.

We have had many accidents in the village including vehicles overturning.

There are sometimes police cameras in place but only during off peak hours.

We really need cameras in the village, this is one solution - the other is to catch the culprits who do the speeding and fine them heavily.

A Atkins Sully
