I AM looking for help in tracing the family of Corporal Anthony Bertram Lloyd MM 4209536, 1st Bn, Parachute Regiment, AAC, who died aged 21 on September 26, 1944, in Holland He was the son of Bertram Harold and Ada Lloyd of Penarth.

I am in possession of a photograph taken by him during a battle. I am not clear how it got home to Penarth but it was sent by Harold and Ada to a comrade of Lloyd's after the war.

The photograph is from his comrade – I have borrowed it. He was in the same trench next to Lloyd when he was killed.

I am trying to trace any relatives of this soldier, H Rowan, 1st Parachut Batt, T Troop, as I would like to investigate a little more about this photograph – and maybe the family would like a copy.

If any relatives can be found, I can supply further information - it makes an interesting read.

I realise this is a very long shot but worth a try.

The picture itself, after some research and help from Dutch friends, is now known about in detail and has created quite a lot of interest to students of The Battle of Arnhem.

We Will Remember Them.
