FOR the third year running, a Charity Golf Day in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust took place at Glamorganshire Golf Club on Good Friday, April 6.

A total of 15 teams participated on what was an excellent day for Golf with the course being in impeccable condition.

The winning team in the Team Stableford event was Gregg Morgan, Rhodri Morgan, Tom Parkinson and Sam Williams with an impressive 122 points (Leon Reece please check the handicaps!) The longest drive on the 17th was won by Tom Maunder, who was only a few feet short of the green, and the nearest the pin on the 18th was won by Jordan Price-Davies.

Presentations were made by the Glamorganshire Golf Club Captain, namely Jim Corsi, and Pete Goodfellow and Phil Rattray (FCC).

Following an excellent curry/chilli provided by club caterer Ben Gray and staff, and a raffle, the live band played into the early hours of the morning.

Many thanks to Chachi (aka Mike Matthews) and Mr & Mrs Roy Davis for keeping us all on our toes!

A grand total of £2,945 was raised for the charity and a special big thanks must go to Gail Humphries for selling over £300 in raffle tickets; and Morgan and Spencer for raising £240 on the 18th tee (it would have been £250 - thanks Phil Harris).

The organisers (Pete and Rhys Goodfellow) would like to thank the Glamorganshire Golf Club for letting us stage the event, the Steward, caterer and their staff, all the players that took part, sponsors, friends and family who attend the evening proceedings, prize donators etc - we are sorry if we missed anyone out.

To make any additional donations to the trust or if you would like to help with any additional fundraising activities, please contact Pete Goodfellow on 07986 316383 or 029 2070 1022.

Looking forward to next year's event when we hope to attract 20 participating teams.

Once again thank you all for the great support.
