THE Penarth Players are commemorating their tenth anniversary with two new plays to be produced in November.
Over the last ten years the company, in its revitalised form which occurred in 2002, has since performed in the Holiday Festival and regularly at other times in the Paget Rooms and the Washington Gallery.
Over this period the range of kinds of drama performed has been extensive, including murder-mysteries, thrillers, monologues, straight plays, public readings and benefit performances for the Washington Gallery.
One feature of their attitude to the theatre – having received outside funding – is the encouragement they believe they should give to young actors aged over 18 to take part in new productions, as well as inviting actors of experience.
This is a long-standing open invitation, which still holds good.
So if anyone reading this believes they would like to have a go, they are invited to call me (Roger Pinkham) on 029 2070 3588.
