I AM writing to highlight the importance of social support services to deafblind people.

Since 2001 deafblind people have benefited from Welsh Government guidance to local authorities across Wales that gives access to social support. This means deafblind people can take part in society and be independent through support with communication, mobility and access to information.

I would not want to see the progress that has been made over the years for deafblind people in Wales slip back. So I call on Gwenda Thomas, Deputy Minister for Social Services in Wales, to ensure that Welsh Government changes to social services ensure that deafblind people continue to get the support they need.
