An appeal to our MP

MAY I make a request that Alun Michael MP, as a public servant and paid out of the public coffers, makes some effort if he is going to contribute to our local newspaper, to write a column that has some interest and relevance to those he is representing.

With the many pertinent issues that he could be discussing I find the cosy, semi tongue-in-cheek, ‘woe is me’ descriptions of his arduous Westminster life tiresome and clumsy.

With unparalleled levels of personal debt within families, loss of jobs, the necessity of an addition of another foodbank into a historically semi-affluent community, and many other real, present and active problems that all sections of society face, Alun Michael should stop this lazy filling of column inches.

If he has nothing intelligent to say, I suggest he hand the white space over to someone else.
