Fabulous fundraiser

THE Macmillan Coffee morning held on Thursday, September 27, in The Old School Hall, Sully, in conjunction with the Thursday Coffee Club, raised a fantastic £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The selection of homemade cakes, muffins and cookies had to be seen to be believed.

We would like to thank everyone who supported this charitable cause – the cake makers, the people who donated the raffle prizes and the bric-a brac, the people who worked hard on the day, and everyone who attended and spent their money.

There was a tray of cakes left over and these were donated to Ty Hafan. Teresa, on behalf of Ty Hafan, has asked us to pass her thanks to everyone.

The leftover bric-a-brac was donated to the Cancer Research Shop, Penarth.

As well as raising money the morning was full of people across the age spectrum catching up with each other, socialising and laughing – a great example of community spirit.

Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face but no-one has to go through it alone.

Macmillan Cancer Support does tremendous work to support people affected by cancer as those of us who have contact with them know only so well.
