Cliff fall is a warning

I REGULARLY walk along the beach from Penarth Pier to the Barrage, tide permitting of course. Recently I witnessed a small but alarming landslip from the top of the cliff face just before Uppercliffe Drive. As well as a lot of smaller debris, a boulder roughly one foot in diameter hurtled down the cliff face, ricocheted off the scree slope at the bottom, and bounced seaward for at least 30 yards.

It would certainly have seriously injured or even killed anyone in its path. I was already aware of the potential danger but will definitely give the foot of the cliffs a wider berth from now on and would urge everyone to do the same.
