THE future of the former St Cyres School annexe in Dinas Powys has been discussed at Dinas Community Council meeting attended by Vale of Glamorgan cabinet member Chris Elmore.
Cllr Elmore, cabinet member for children's services , presented the results of the consultation exercise regarding the Murch Crescent facility, and explained that the responses indicated support for sporting facilities, some housing, a church with additional facilities, and a medical centre. He said there was much work to be done and a need for engagement with local organisations who were interested in the site.
Community council members stressed the need for community facilities and expressed concern about the impact that housing would have on the local road infrastructure.
The impact of hundreds of vehicles travelling down Murch Hill was also discussed as an issue.
Chair of the council Cllr Val Hartrey thanked Cllr Elmore for his time and information, and he offered to attend future meeting as the process continued.
