A TORNADO swept through Dinas Powys on the weekend – but no-one was hurt, because rather than a natural disaster it was a marvel of a different kind.
The steam loco – called Tornado – flew through the local rail stations on a positioning move to Cadoxton.
An early morning announcement Saturday, on community Facebook page Dinas Powys Pictures( DPP), alerted local enthusiasts and dozens turned out to line the bridges and stations and catch a peek.
The loco was hauling the Cathedral Express tour, from London Waterloo to Cardiff.
During a four-hour break at Cardiff Central, it detached from the train to turn around and face the right direction for the trip back to London.
One of the users of DPP said : “It was something very special.”
