A DINAS POWYS woman has become the new face of a magazine show on S4C.
Carys Jones, who recently graduated from Aberystwyth University will be one of two presenters on the new series of Y Lle.
The 21-year-old will make her debut next Thursday (September 19) at 10pm.
Over the course of the series Y Lle will be showcasing some weird, wonderful and quirky things happening throughout Wales, in addition to bringing viewers some of the best Welsh language music out there.
“I was so excited when I heard that I had got the job,” said Carys, who will be sharing the presenting duties with Ben Ellis of the Welsh psychedelic band, Sen Segur.
“I’ve never done something like this before other than doing an item for Y Lle during the last series, I only graduated in Drama over the summer so it came as quite a shock.”
Viewers can expect to see the story of 'Rosie a Fo' (Rosie and Him), a fly on the wall documentary following the escapades of a Welsh music act trying to make it big in the music industry. It will also introduced some interesting recipes in 'Cwcio dy Nain' (Your Nan's cooking), where a real-life grandmother creates an unusual array of dishes each week which may or may not be to your taste.
Carys is currently getting to grips with working in front of the camera and looks forward to a series jam-packed with unusual entertainment.
“It was very different from what I imagined,” she added. “To be honest it was quite intimidating at first but I’m getting used to it.”
“What I’ve enjoyed from watching previous shows of Y Lle is the fact that it’s so random with loads of stuff you wouldn’t normally see anywhere else. The item where we have a grandmother cooking some very unusual dishes is just nuts!”
