A MUM-OF-ONE and member of Women Running Penarth pounded the pavements of Penarth and the capital on the weekend, after being inspired by a cousin who deals with a rare neurological condition.
Childcare worker Victoria Gee completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in two hours ten minutes and raised more than £1,000.
It was her first half marathon, and she ran in aid of Ataxia UK – a charity that supports her 20-year-old cousin who suffers from the Friedreich's form of the condition.
Vicky, 31, said she had been inspired by her cousin’s zest for life.
“She’s so brave and courageous and she lives life to the full,” Vicky said.
“I really enjoyed the race. I will definitely be running next year!”
