ALL Saints’ Church in Victoria Square, Penarth will host a family concert filled with exciting music and delicious biscuits for Children in Need on Saturday, October 12.
In June 2012, Beatrice Spence, then aged six and a pupil at Victoria Primary School, came up with the idea of holding a charity concert. She invited some musical friends to join her and in October 2012 they performed and raised more than £600 for the charity. The young musicians and their audience had so much fun that day that they could not wait to do it again.
This year, Beatrice has invited Oscar Whiting, Matilda Whiting, Isobel Adams and Emily Reypert from Victoria Primary School and Tom Sharpe from Stanwell School to join her.
The concert programme consists of famous theme tunes from movies and well-known classical pieces on violin, cello and piano. They are very much chosen with young children in mind.
"The concert is going to be fun for mums and dads and their little ones," said Beatrice.
After the concert, there will be home-made biscuits and drinks for sale as well as live music performed by students from Stanwell School, including cello duo and piano solos.
In order to raise money for Children in Need, tickets will be sold at £1 each at the door The concert will start at 4.30pm.
