A CANNABIS factory has been removed from a property in Penarth town centre following a tip-off from a member of the public.
The property, where “a large quantity of cannabis” was found, is located on Windsor Road above the Dragon Discounts store.
All of the cannabis plants that were grown at the property were removed on Friday, October 11, at 11am.
One Penarth resident, that did not want to be named, said: “They were taking cannabis plants out of the property all day.
“The people that were renting it out didn’t know what was going on.
“Someone said they used to be able to smell it from the pub downstairs.”
The person added that there had always been blackout curtains put up over the windows that overlook Windsor Road and that there had been suspicions that nobody lived there.
“There were never any curtains up there,” they said
“Since Saturday the windows have been open every day too.”
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: “As a result of information from a member of the public police found a cannabis factory at Windsor Road in Penarth.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing into those that are responsible.”
The spokesperson added that a large quantity of cannabis was cultivated at the premises and removed by the police.
