FUNDRAISING charity nights featuring live music are set to be held at Murchfield Community Centre in Dinas Powys over the next few months.
Victoria’s Music Box will play pop hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s to raise funds for Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern in January.
The event will also feature a licensed bar and raffle.
Lead singer Vicky has been in the music entertainment business for many years as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist. She has also appeared in the touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
The other band members have a wealth of musical experience between them that includes teaching, performing and writing music, as well as composing music for film.
Last year the community centre was refurbished and repainted. It is used by a number of community groups throughout the week as well as being home to the community cinema. The cinema is set to host the likes of The Great Gatsby and Robot & Frank over the autumn.
The next event organised by The Murchfield Community Association will be a St Andrew’s Night Whisky Tasting on November 30, a ticket only event.
Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern (DPVC) provides a service to individuals, groups and to the many voluntary organisations operating in the village. In particular it aims to help, support and improve the quality of life of the elderly and people who have a mobility issue.
DPVC assists individuals when they experience unforeseen difficulties by visiting them and finding appropriate sources of help.
Tickets for Victoria’s Music Box, priced at £5 each, are available from the DPVC office at the rear of the hall, The Parish Hall, Britway Rd or by calling or emailing 07765513424 firstname.lastname@example.org.
The hall can be booked by calling 02920 513700.
