CAVRA name change

CAVRA , formerly known as the Cardiff and Vale Rescue Association (CAVRA), has now changed its name to the Civil Aid Voluntary Rescue Association (CAVRA).
The area it covers has also been extended to include the former counties of South, Mid and West Glamorgan and surrounding areas.
A spokesman said: "We feel that this better reflects the services that we provide, especially during flooding and weather-related incidents etc, and that it will allow greater flexibility for working with our emergency services partners and local authorities."
The CAVRA team is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and relies on donations and grants to provide this essential support during times of emergency.
