A CHARITY fashion show organised by a Penarth business owner has raised over £1,300 for the Stroke Association.

Cathy Evans, owner of Gingers of Penarth, hosted the event which saw her own customers taking to the catwalk. Seventy two outfits were shown on night, a record for Cathy!

Penny Evans, a volunteer and founding member of Penarth and District Stroke Support Group, said: “Over 11,000 people across Wales have a stroke each year and over 65,100 people are living with the effects of stroke. We believe everyone affected by stroke should get the support they need to make the best possible recovery.

“We were delighted Cathy got involved to bring a little glamour to Dinas Powys. The show was a huge hit and the audience had a great time watching their friends and relatives strut their stuff. We'd just like to say thank you again to everyone involved.”

Penarth and District Stroke Support Group has been in operation and affiliated with Stroke Association for 25 years. The group meet between 4pm – 6pm on the first and third Thursday of every month at the Trinity Community Centre.
