A PENARTH tattooist celebrated ‘Movember’ by offering women a chance to join in the fun by having moustaches tattooed on their fingers!
Inkabella, on Plassey Street, raised more than £100 for charity through the tattoos and also sold a range of ‘Movember’ themed wrist bands, ear rings and necklaces.
‘Movember’, a fundraising initiative where men get sponsored to grow moustaches throughout the month of November, aims to raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
‘Movember’ tattoos have grown in popularity over the last few years as they allow women to join in the fundraising initiative too, with the £10 cost of the tattoo going directly towards charity.
Lisa Walker, who launched the tattoo parlour in October last year, said that the tattoos allowed women to get involved in Movember too.
“It’s been quite popular,” she said.
“A lot of people get it done to raise a bit of money for charity and because it’s a bit of fun. “
Lucy Artiss, who also works at Inkabella, said that 11 people had asked for Movember tattoos.
“We do several different types of moustaches but there have been two that are the most popular,” she said.
“There is a really curly traditional one that is quite thick, and a similar one that is a bit thinner.”
