THE SAVING Sully action group are to hold a fundraising quiz night.

All the money raised from the night will go to the Saving Sully fighting fund.

The Saving Sully action group has been campaigning against housing proposals in the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Draft Local Development Plan (LDP).

The group are opposed to proposals for housing at Upper Cosmeston Farm and the siting of a permanent traveller site at the former recycling site on Hayes Road.

A spokeswoman from the action group said: “Now that the closing date for the objections has passed on December 20 we believe that there were approximately 300 objections from the village.

“We intend to proceed with our fight to save Sully and are planning a quiz night at the Old School in Sully at 7.30pm on Friday, January 17.

“There will be teams of 4-6 people per table. Tickets will be £5 per person with a light buffet and bar. Proceeds raised will go to the Saving Sully fighting fund.

“We also intend to have other fund raising events to sustain our campaign.”

Tickets can be purchased from Steve Thomas on 02920 531586, Ian Mathias on 02920 530441 or Ken Jones 02920 530893.
