A PENARTH youth club has raised more than £400 for children’s hospice Ty Hafan.
Xtreme youth club, based at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Plassey Street, raised the money through a range of events.
Every year the children, aged between seven and 11 years old, vote to choose a charity to raise money for over the year.
In the past the youth group has raised money for Tearfund's Toilet Twinning, a computer for a school scheme based in India.
This year they chose to raise money for children’s hospice Ty Hafan through a number of events, including sponsored swimming sessions and sleepovers, as well as donating their pennies and all the proceeds from their tuck shop.
The youth group managed to raise £410 for Ty Hafan and presented the cheque to an ambassador for Ty Hafan with a giant Christmas card, that the children made themselves, during their Christmas party on the last club night of term, December 20.
The youth group meet every Friday between 6pm and 7.15pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
