A SULLY family are celebrating reaching 65 years of wedded bliss.
David and Eileen Morgan, of Lynmouth Drive, received a card from the queen congratulating them on their Blue Sapphire wedding anniversary last Friday, December 27.
They celebrated their achievement with family and friends over the Christmas period at their home overlooking Sully beach.
Former district nurse Eileen, 92, said it was a “fantastic” wedding day.
“It was a bank holiday but there was a football match on,” she said.
“Cardiff City were playing and all the men were going to watch it so they were leaving the women behind. David would have been the only man left so I let him go to the match.”
David, 93, added: “I left them at the hotel in Canton and went to the match.”
David, who previously owned a bakery in Canton, added that during their time together they had never had any “disturbances” and enjoyed holidaying in their apartment in Spain.
Eileen, originally from Cardiff, added: “We enjoy meals and holidays together. We have got good friends and neighbours across the road and from next door.”
