STAFF, Cadets and the Civilian Committee from 1148 (Penarth) Squadron would like to thank The Buffaloes Club for their very kind donation of £500.
The Buffaloes – better known as “The Buffs” – are a society that provides support to “any member in need”. Members “rejoice in convivial company and without any political, religious, physical or ethnic restriction”. The organisation was founded in London 1822 and the curious name was derived from a popular song of the time “We’ll chase the Buffalo“.
They have donated money to a number of charities after the sale of their premises. “This is extremely generous for The Buffaloes Club and we are very grateful” said Flying Officer Emily Kennedy. “This money will be used to provide fantastic opportunities to the cadets on the squadron”.
