CARDIFF Airport is holding a free holiday market on February 16, and families, couples and solo travellers alike are invited to come along and see just how many places they can go from Wales’ national airport.
The event is being held in partnership with Regal Travel and there’ll be more than 40 operators displaying their wares, such as P&O Cruises, Vueling Airlines and Newmarket Holidays. Regal Travel’s holiday experts, based across south Wales will be on hand with special offers on the day, to provide free advice and take bookings. Plus, everyone who attends will be offered the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a holiday.
The holiday market will be open from 11am to 4pm; each visitor will be given a ‘passport’ when they arrive to be stamped by exhibitors and give them entry to the free prize draw for a chance to win a fantastic break with Red Sea Holidays. The all inclusive holiday is for two people to the Siva Sharm Resort & Spa, which is a great example of the year round sunshine destinations available from Cardiff.
Real Radio breakfast show presenters Jagger and Woody will be at the Holiday Market, helping to get everyone in the holiday mood, and the Real Patrol will be giving away goodies for everyone to enjoy.
Other exhibitors include Visit Wales and Penderyn Welsh Whiskey as well as the Airport’s Executive Lounge and Nuance (the tax and duty free shop) with a selection of goods that can be bought on the day. Family entertainment will also be provided in partnership with local charity, Ty Hafan.
For those on a travel research mission, visitors can also attend seminars from Red Sea Holidays, Travel Indochina, Travelsphere, Omega Holidays, APT Touring and Scenic Tours to find out more about the specific destinations they offer.
The holiday market follows the recent addition of new flights to Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon as well as the launch of new airlines including CityJet and Germanwings plus Caribbean and Mediterranean fly cruises.
Visitors will also be able to see first-hand some of the improvements going on at the terminal as part of the works currently in progress, due to be completed by Summer 2014.
“We are very excited to host the holiday market for the first time at the airport this year with Regal Travel having held successful events for many years now.
“The new destinations and schedules available mean Cardiff Airport now offers literally something for everyone and the holiday market will be a great way for travellers to get some inspiration or more detail on destinations they already have in mind for their 2014 holiday plans”, said airport chief executive, Jon Horne.
“Our passengers want more routes so that they have more options to fly from Cardiff, and this remains our focus.” He added.
“After two successful years of holiday markets in Bridgend, we thought it was time to share our expertise with a wider audience, this time with the support of Cardiff Airport, a wide variety operators and airlines. We will provide potential travellers with varied opportunities and exclusive offers for their holidays in 2014”, said Helen Tustin, general manager Regal Travel.
The holiday market will be hosted in the Cardiff Airport check in hall. To register attendance and claim free parking call, text or email 07436535640 or firstname.lastname@example.org
