PENARTH Esplanade was battered by high tides and gale force winds again over the last week.
High tides threw up seaweed and stones on to the flooded Esplanade.
The Esplanade was closed closed due to flooding and high winds on Tuesday night, February 4, and Wednesday morning.
Surrounding roads were also affected by flooding as police warned motorists to be careful when driving in the area.
Further strong winds, as well as heavy rain, are predicted for later this week.
It is not the first time that the area has been affected by a combination of unusually high tides and gale force winds.
In January this year Penarth Coastguard were called to the Esplanade to ensure that keen wave-watchers, hoping to take dramatic photos of sea water crashing on to the road, stood a safe distance back.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council also warned people to avoid seafront areas during high tides as they closed Beach Road several times.
Penarth Pier was also closed to prevent people putting their lives at risk.
The following photographs were sent in by Penarth Times readers showing the recent high tides at Penarth beach at the beginning of February.
