LLANDOUGH Primary School have had a wonderful week celebrating the diversity in our world.

The children in the nursery have been learning about animals around the world and they have had an exciting week focusing on different countries each day.

The other classes in Foundation Phase have taken part in a carousel of activities. They visited different classrooms where they learned about India, China and the African continent. The children made crafts and learnt songs and dances.

On Friday morning the children had a multicultural party where they tasted foods from the countries they had been learning about. Children from Year 6 were invited to demonstrate a Filipino dance.

The busy week culminated with an assembly where parents joined the children in sharing what they had done.

The hall was decorated with their work and the children performed an Indian dance, a song from Ghana and used the languages spoken by the children within our school. The children in KS2 were visited by staff from the language department from St Cyres School and parents.

All the children had a fantastic week and learned lots of interesting things about countries from around the world.
